Trekking to high altitude glacial Lakes in itself is quite adventurous and manages to catch the interest of every hiker.But all these tough complications can be kept at bay with the beautiful Bhrigu Lake Trek in the upper Kullu Valley based in the eastern side of the famous Rohtang pass in Himachal Pradesh. This is ideal weekend hiking trip promising loads of entertainment for both beginners as well as experienced hikers. Nestled at an altitude of 14,000 ft the Bhrigu Lake Trek offers fascinating natural vistas and breathtaking views of snow clapped mountains, lush meadows ad verdant rich forests.

Itinerary

Day 1Trekkers will be picked from Manali around 12:00pm and travel to Gulaba by road which takes approx. 2 hours - From there, 90 minutes trek for about 3 km to Gulaba Meadows with steep ascent throughout the trail - Arrival at Gulaba Meadows (10,300 feet) around 5 p.m. - Over night stay at tent

Day 2On this day there will be 6 kms of trekking in approx. 4 hours time from Gulaba (10,300 feet) to Rola Kholi (12,500 feet) - First 1.5 hours is steep ascent and then gradual ascent till campsite, via Kolang Nallah - The trail passes through virgin forest (silver oak, cedar and birch trees) with views of Manali & Solang - Mt. Hanuman Tibba and the Seven Sister peaks spotted on the way - Overnight stay in tents

Day 3On this day there will be 5 kms of trekking each way in approx. 8 hours time from Rola Kholi (12,500 feet) to Bhrigu Lake (14,000 feet) and back to Rola Kholi - Start early in the morning & Steep ascent till Brigu Lake - Mixed rocky and snow trail Trek along with the bhrigu Lake stream - Packed lunch will be given - Overnight stay in Tents

Day 4On last day, there will be 6 kms of trekking in approx. 3 hours time from Rola Kholi (12,500 feet) to Gulaba which Easy and mostly descending - drop to Manali for return journey by 6 p.m
