Adorned with ravishing beauty of falling snow and fringed with pine trees, The Kedarkantha Peak is one of the most sought after snow trekking destinations in India. With falling winter snow it’s a mesmerizing pictorial view and what’s more attractive, is the view of the Mighty Himalayas from the trails right to the top. Nestled at a height of 3810 meters which is about 12,500 feet this is an ideal trekking trail which covers a consolidated distance of 20 kms.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Dehradun Railway station/ Air port - Trekkers will be picked from Dehradun at 6:30am and travel to Sankri by road which takes approx. 10 hours - Arrival at Sankri at 5 p.m. - Over night stay at Sankri

Day 2On this day there will be 4 kms of trekking in approx. 5 hours time from Sankri (6,400 feet) to Juda ka Talab (9,100 feet). The trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, few streams and finally opens out to beautiful meadows - Overnight stay in tents

Day 3On this day there will be 4 kms of trekking in approx. 2.5 hours time from Juda ka Talab (9,100 feet) to kedarkantha base (11,250 feet). The trail passes through ridge, under oak trees also some meadows where you can spot shepherd log huts - Peaks: Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag and Ranglana stand among the others -Overnight stay in tents

Day 4On this day there will be 6 kms of trekking in approx. 7 hours time from kedarkantha base (11,250 feet) to kedarkantha peak (12,500 feet) - Spend some time at the summit and descend back to the base camp by noon for lunch - Post lunch, descend down to Hargaon (8,900 feet) and reach by evening - Overnight stay in tents

Day 5On this day there will be 6 kms of trekking in approx. 4 hours time from Hargaon (8,900 feet) to Sankri (6,400 feet) - Descend 2500 feet through dense pine forests - Overnight stay in Sankri

Day 6On last day travel back from Sankri to Dehradun, a 220 km drive, which takes approx. 10 hours - drop to Airport/Railway station for return journey
